You Belong at Cornerstone!

God Uses Each of Us

Rev Ruth Jensen-Forbell

Scripture: Philippians 2: 5-11 and Mark 11: 1-11.

We need to celebrate the gifts God has given to us and to others. God uses each of us in our own way, and even if we are not the best one, we may be the one who is needed or the one who is there. All of us must work together to make our church everything God has called us to be.

Break Bread and Fellowship

The Hospitality team invites you stay after the worship service Sunday, March 25 for Dinner in the Fellowship House. We will provide Smoked Meat and ask that you bring a side dish to share. We will also have a special cake and ice cream to celebrate Rev Ruth's birthday! Come break bread and fellowship with us!!!

Board Meeting

The Board will meet Sunday, March 25 after worship service and the luncheon. This meeting is open to all and begins with a Listening Post for members to provide proposals or comments. However, it is usually better to contact a board member ahead of time, so all the appropriate information is gathered and appropriate questions are addressed before the meeting.

Women's Group

The Women's Group meets next at Renee's to help her with her fence. Please bring your tools if you got em. See Sheilah, Carol or Renee for the address. We are meeting on Saturday, March 24 from 10:00am until 4:00pm. Hot dogs, hamburgers or such will be served for lunch.

This will be our first "Tabitha's Task." One month our group will meet for a social event and the next for a service project that we termed a "Tabitha's Task." We are beginning with projects for group members then we will expand to people of Cornerstone. Eventually we plan on reaching out to help people outside our Church. Anyone who identifies as a woman is invited to join our group. We look forward to growing our group. Come join us, have fun, fellowship and help someone out.

Good Friday Service

We will have a Good Friday service on Friday, March 30 at 7:00pm in the Sanctuary.

Easter Sunrise Service

Come celebrate the Resurrection at sunrise on Mobile Bay! We will gather on Sunday, April 1 at 6:30am on the pier at Arlington Park on Brookley Field for a reading of Scripture, singing praises to the Risen Savior and receiving Holy Communion. Everyone is invited to bring fresh fruit, pastries, or juice to share during a time of fellowship after the service.

Help Build Our Community

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a home-ownership program that builds and sells homes to hard-working families in need of decent and affordable housing.

Cornerstone will be participating in Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, April 14. The time and location will not be known until just before the event. There will be a sign-up sheet at the welcome table after church Sunday. I hope you will consider joining our team as we make a difference for someone in need. Carol Boesen will be the contact person for this event. There will be release forms to sign and a short safety video to watch that will be provided prior to the event.

Drama Ministry

A Drama Ministry creates joyful and new opportunities to express spirt and allows for a deeper emotional vesting in the church. It offers opportunities for all ages and creates lasting friendship while enhancing the word of God. Storytelling is the most powerful forms of communication God has given to us and drama is a highly potent way to tell a story. With the Drama Ministry Team, we will bring Scripture to life. Please contact Chris Willingham by email or 251.284.8272 for more information.

Fellowship House Restoration

Help fund the restoration of our Fellowship House! Thanks to some wonderful people, CMCC has a Go Fund Me account ( After the first of the year we will be applying for grants. Many grant agencies require evidence that the applicant is trying to raise funds. Some require matching funds. Check out the site, donate, and share information on your Facebook and/or your Twitter account(s) so your friends can donate too. This link has already been posted to CMCC's Facebook and Twitter accounts for you to share.

Help Cornerstone MCC by relieving some of your church's financial pressures. In addition to your usual giving consider paying one of our recurring bills. Some are yearly, some are quarterly and some are monthly. The monthly bills have been averaged over the past year. Currently there are fourteen bills, ten are monthly, one is quarterly, and three are yearly.

Place check or cash for the amount in an envelope, write name of bill on the outside and your name (if you wish to remain anonymous no name is necessary) and put in offering plate. Payment (cash or check) may also be mailed to: Cornerstone MCC, Attn: Adopt-a-Bill, 1007 Government Street, Mobile, Alabama 36604.

You may choose to pay a bill for one month, three months or the whole year...however you feel lead to use the financial gifts God has blessed you with.

If you have questions, need information or want to sign-up, see Sheilah or Carol. A list of bills and amounts are on the bulletin board in the foyer and in the Fellowship House.

Conflict Resolution Policy

After two Wonderful Wednesday sessions, a Conflict Resolution Policy was presented at the Board of Directors meeting. A motion was passed to rename it "Cornerstone Guidelines for Conflict Resolution" and to recommend all members and friends print out a copy and review it. It will also be included in New Member packets. It is our hope that this document will remind us that conflicts will occur, and there are positive ways to deal with them as Christian brothers and sisters.
