You Belong at Cornerstone!
Events
I Speak Jesus
Rev Sara Sills
Scripture: Acts 4:12 and John 1:1-5
I hope you will join us for worship this Sunday as our Special Guest Speaker will be Rev Lee J Carlton. Rev Lee served as pastor of Cornerstone MCC many years ago and is a biblical scholar and anointed man of God's Word. He has often been referred to as the Johnny Appleseed of MCC because of his travels within the US and abroad planting churches. He will be sharing a message titled "I Speak Jesus".
Worship Participant Training
Worship Participant Training is being offered by Kent Dueitt on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. We are always seeking new people to serve as acolytes, scripture readers, and to offer prayers on Sunday mornings. Step out of your comfort zone and try it! You will find a blessing in serving others!
Rev Marge Ragona
Rev Marge Ragona, Founding Pastor of Cornerstone MCC, will be here on Saturday, June 10 to offer her insights into hidden characters of the Bible who just may have been gay or lesbians. More details will be coming soon! Save the date because you don't want to miss this opportunity to learn from her brilliant mind.
PRIDE Artwalk
Come on out for PRIDE Artwalk on Friday, June 9 from 6:00-9:00pm at Cathedral Square downtown. We will have a booth in the park to share our message of God's inclusive love! Look for us! If you have a Cornerstone t-shirt, wear it so we can be easily identified.
Cruisin'
Cornerstone Is Going Cruising in February 2024! If you want to join us on this fun vacation, go to cornerstonecruise.weebly.com to reserve your cabin. Join us for a fun filled six-day cruise leaving Sunday, Feb 25, 2024 and returning Saturday, Mar 2, 2024.
Live Worship Update
Please note the following guidelines that we implemented. With the current COVID data in Mobile County, I believe we do not need to implement any new precautions. It is important that we understand that there are many among us who are immune compromised. The safety of ALL is our aim.
If you are not feeling well we ask that you stay at home and join us online for our services.
It appears we currently have a low rate of transmission.
- Wearing masks is not mandatory. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please do so. Masks will be available at both entrances to the Sanctuary.
- We will be offering Communion in our regular format or using individually wrapped sets as an option.
- Please be mindful of distancing yourselves from others if needed.
- We are returning to our regular form of Passing the Peace.
I know how much these intimacies enhance our worship experiences but be mindful of others.
Our guidelines are based on the latest scientific knowledge and recommendations. Your cooperation is necessary in order for us to be successful in that attempt.
We will continue to closely monitor the evolution of this pandemic and will keep you up to date on our response to it.
Sanctuary Cleaning Crews
We are looking for a few people to work together one Saturday a month to keep our Sanctuary clean and ready for Sunday worship. We will provide the cleaning products and tools. But we need people to do the labor. Contact Pastor Sara by clicking her name if you have a team willing to take a weekend.
Freeman House Renovation Project
Anyone who would like to "adopt a room" in the Freeman Fellowship House should speak with Calvin Yamin. He is the project coordinator for the renovations being done in the house. We are refurbishing the house on a "pay as you go" plan so every gift matters.
Music Ministry
The Music Ministry of Cornerstone MCC is proud to announce it is opening back up for more singers and musicians! Practice is held on Sunday mornings, with an occasional mid-week practice (for special occasions, soloists, etc.). Please note, practice is mandatory! If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact Waylon.
Congregational Care Ministry Team
Our Congregational Care Team is looking for people who are available during business hours Monday through Friday to drive individuals to doctor appointments. If you can help, please contact Pastor Sara.
Office Hours
Pastor Sara will have office hours by appointment and can be scheduled by clicking here.
Adopt-a-Bill
Help Cornerstone MCC by relieving some of your church's financial pressures. In addition to your usual giving consider paying one of our recurring bills. Some are yearly, some are quarterly and some are monthly. The monthly bills have been averaged over the past year. Currently there are fourteen bills, ten are monthly, one is quarterly, and three are yearly.
Place check or cash for the amount in an envelope, write name of bill on the outside and your name (if you wish to remain anonymous no name is necessary) and put in offering plate. Payment (cash or check) may also be mailed to: Cornerstone MCC, Attn: Adopt-a-Bill, 1007 Government Street, Mobile, Alabama 36604.
You may choose to pay a bill for one month, three months or the whole year...however you feel lead to use the financial gifts God has blessed you with.
If you have questions, need information or want to sign-up, contact us through the Church's contact form

Conflict Resolution Policy
A Conflict Resolution Policy was presented at the Board of Directors meeting. A motion was passed to rename it "Cornerstone Guidelines for Conflict Resolution" and to recommend all members and friends print out a copy and review it. It will also be included in New Member packets. It is our hope that this document will remind us that conflicts will occur, and there are positive ways to deal with them as Christian brothers and sisters.
Click here for your copy of Cornerstone Guidelines for Conflict Resolution.
Mobile Apps
You can access your favorite Cornerstone MCC service, sermon and live broadcast from your mobile device by using the mobile app provided by sermon.net. Get your iPhone app here or your Android app here.
